You will study Tai Chi with Master Teng Wie Yoo, an accomplished Master of both Yang style and Chen style. Master Teng speaks good English and is a very warm and approachable teacher whose aim is to impart understanding rather than parrot-fashion learning. We can guarantee that everyone from beginners to very experienced students will benefit greatly from studying with him. He is also an excellent practitioner of reflexology and teaches kung fu, lion and dragon dance. He is a very respected figure in the Martial Arts community of Malaysia.
There are small intensive classes in the morning and then general classes in the evening which give the opportunity to make friends with local Tai Chi students.
Upon arrival Master Teng will informally discuss the level of your existing knowledge (if any) and design a training programme for you. Basic training consists of the 24 step Yang Style Tai Chi form. If you are a very experienced student, Master Teng may teach you a more advanced form (by prior arrangement only).
Training will begin the following morning, either by the Regent Hotel pool or at the local KLCC park. This will last 1-½ hours, leaving time for a shower and breakfast. The rest of the day will free for shopping and discovering the local surroundings. In the evening you will be taken to the Headquarters on Jalan Ipoh, for training with local students.
Training will follow a similar pattern on most days, leaving you plenty of time for shopping and sightseeing.
You will also be taken on a city tour to see the sights: Medeka Square, KLCC, Petronas Towers, Chinatown etc. We can also arrange longer, custom-designed trips to other areas of Malaysia. Please discuss your requirements with us.
